Sound Baths in Kansas City & Overland Park — Carried Sound
Let yourself be Carried.
Go somewhere only sound can take you.
The Kansas City sound bath experience you've been looking for.
You've tried meditation. You've done yoga. You've built the rituals. But there's a depth that effortful practices can't always reach, because they still require you to try.
A sound bath is different. You lie down. Joann plays. The frequencies do the rest, and your nervous system responds whether or not your mind cooperates.
Clients describe Carried Sound sessions as feminine, ethereal, warm, transformative, and transportive. Like going somewhere you didn't know you needed to go.
Tibetan & Bronze Singing Bowls
Handcrafted metal singing bowls with centuries of ceremonial use behind them. Where crystal bowls open and expand, the metal bowls ground. Their overtones are earthier, older, more complex. Rich harmonic layers that settle into the body differently than anything else in the collection.
Most practitioners play one or the other. Joann plays both, and the relationship between them is what makes a Carried Sound session feel like a complete journey rather than a single note held long.
Crystal Singing Bowls
C, F, and A tuned to 432Hz. The harmonic foundation of every session. Warm, spacious, and deeply resonant. These are the bowls that open the room.
Chau Gong
Full-body frequency. The sound that moves through walls, floors, tissue. Clients feel it before they hear it. A reset that reaches places nothing else does.
Koshi Chimes · Tongue Drum
The textures. The shimmer. The moment the room shifts and softens. Client favorites, every time. These are the instruments that make people cry happy tears.
Yoga Nidra · Breathwork
Joann weaves guided yoga nidra and breathwork into select sessions. Layering a consciousness-shifting technique with sound for a deeper release.

Open Sessions
The most valuable thing you'll do for yourself all week. Show up as you are. Lie down. Let sixty minutes of live sound do what an hour of trying to meditate can't.
Just Yours
A private sound journey built around where you actually are. Not a formula. Not a fixed script. Joann begins by listening before she plays, and the session is shaped by what she hears.
Carried to Work
Your team is tired. Not the kind that a team lunch fixes. One sound bath session resets something that can't be reached through a slide deck or a ping-pong table.
Carried Away
For the gathering that deserves more than a playlist. The wedding that wants to begin with intention. The retreat that needs a closing ritual that actually closes something.
Twenty years learning how the body holds — and how to help it let go.
Most sound healers will tell you they found the bowls and everything changed. Joann's story is more like a long, winding conversation between her and the body, and sound was the chapter she was always moving toward.
Twenty years. Ayurveda. Esthetics. Herbalism. Yoga. Breathwork. Lymphatic drainage. Panchakarma. She didn't arrive at sound healing. She earned it.
She is also very funny. That part matters too.

I've been to other sound baths, but Joann's sessions are genuinely different. The way she plays, the layering, the intention, it's an experience I look forward to every week.
Exceptional doesn't even cover it. I brought my whole team, and every single person said it was the most impactful thing we've done together. Mandatory annual event from here on out.
I went in curious and came out completely changed. Joann creates a container that feels both safe and sacred. Something in my body knew exactly what to do with the sound.
Every Wednesday.
5:30pm. Very Well KC.
